Schools
The Darebin Creek Management Committee works with schools to revegetate the Darebin Creek and create habitat in school yards. In the past activities with schools include planting indigenous water saving gardens, walks and talks of the Darebin Creek, addressing morning assembly, field trips and planting trees along the Darebin Creek in both urban and rural locations. We can also provide on-site advice for school projects and assist with grant applications so if you have an idea, let us know and see how we can support you.

Learning Grounds
The Darebin Creek Management Committee (DCMC) restores local habitat and provides environmental education to schools, through Learning Grounds. Learning Grounds was developed by the Merri Creek Management Committee and has been adopted by the DCMC.
Learning Grounds enables schools to plan and link broad learning objectives with the indigenous flora and fauna of our local waterways right in their own school grounds. Learning Grounds can be incorporated into learning areas such as art, history, maths, English and geography.
Your school can develop indigenous gardens to help wildlife links around our local waterways. If you have an idea, let us know and see how we can support you. We can help with planning, selection of indigenous plant species, funding of plants and planting equipment.
