Adrian Infanti - Darebin Creek Co-ordinator

Adrian has completed a Bachelor of Applied Science in Parks, Recreation & Heritage and has worked with the DCMC since 2002 after six years as a Ranger with Parks Victoria. "After living and working in a National Park, it's important for me to realise the values of the Darebin Creek and its linear parks from an urban perspective". Adrian's role includes a variety of responsibilities that range from strategic planning for the Creek and project management, to planning application reviews, bushland management, litter control and stormwater management.

Therese Grinter - Darebin Creek Assistant Co-ordinator

Therese works closely with the Darebin Creek Co-ordinator undertaking project work, grant applications, comment on planning applications and administrative tasks of the Committee. Therese works with community groups, landholders and schools on issues within the Darebin Creek Catchment and has been with the DCMC since 2002. Therese's recent projects include liaising with rural landholders to improve sections of the northern catchment and working on litter issues with schools that back onto the creek.


Parklands Division

Peter Wiltshire – Ranger in Charge

As the Senior Ranger, Peter is responsible for the development, maintenance and administration of the Darebin Parklands. Peter also designed and manages the Leachate treatment system on the old tip site, which protects the Darebin Creek from contamination. Peter has worked on the Darebin Creek for over 20 years with most of these as Ranger In-Charge.


Matthew Strong - Operations Ranger

Matthew has been working in the Darebin Parklands since late 2007 and is responsible for assisting the Ranger in Charge in the general maintenance of the park. Matthew's role also involves participating in educational activities and working with the Darebin Parklands Association on their Park Care days. Matthew has a keen interest in weed management and possesses a background in both natural resource management and agriculture.

 

Waterwatch


Julia Vanderoord– Waterwatch Officer

The North East Melbourne Waterwatch officer is partly located at the DCMC office.
Waterwatch is a national community water quality monitoring program funded by the Commonwealth Government's Natural Heritage Trust. The program aims to build community understanding of water quality issues, and to encourage monitoring groups to undertake constructive actions to rectify water quality problems.

Julia's interest in Melbourne's waterways began as a child, growing up alongside the Yarra River in Templestowe and its tributaries. Julia has completed a Bachelor in Applied Science in Parks, Recreation and Heritage, a Diploma in Natural Resource Management and a background in water quality and analysis through work in Shepparton as an Assistant Hydrographer collecting physical data on the Goulburn and Murray Rivers. Julia has a passion for environmental education gained from her past roles as Interpretation Officer for Melbourne Water, Currawong Bush Park and DSE, Environmental Education Officer at City of Whittlesea and Conservation and Land Management Teacher at NMIT.
